Need a Virginia Criminal Defense Lawyer?

At The Wilson Law Firm, helping clients accused of DUI, criminal and traffic offenses in Virginia is our number one priority.  Since 1995, Mr. Wilson has been a leading advocate for people charged with DUI, Reckless Driving or other criminal offenses who desire the assistance of a skilled, honest and successful defense attorney.  In addition to being well-versed on the law, all of our lawyers at The Wilson Law Firm have extensive specialized education and training which helps them provide top notch representation for our clients.  The Wilson Law Firm always works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome by aggressively and zealously representing our clients without ever compromising professionalism or integrity.  In doing so we help our clients through what is generally a very difficult time for them with as little harm as possible so they can move on with their lives.

Virginia has several major interstates and highways, including I-95, I-395, I-495 to the north, I-77 and I-81 to the west, I-66 crossing northern Virginia and I-64 crossing central Virginia.  These several interstates provide an endless stream of motorists, many of whom are violating the law by driving too fast, driving without a valid license, driving with a suspended license, or driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  In addition, the punishments in Virginia for such offenses seem to consistently increase, so for the accused that means a conviction in Virginia can have major consequences.

When charged with a crime like Driving Under the Influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI / DWI), or any of the several versions of Reckless Driving, choosing the right lawyer could be the difference in the outcome of your case.  If you have been charged with DUI or some other criminal or traffic offense in Virginia and the outcome of your case is important, make sure you hire a defense lawyer who is equipped with the education, training and experience necessary to most effectively protect your rights and put you in the best positon to get the best result.

Virginia Criminal Defense

According to statistics compiled by the Virginia State Police, there were over 20,000 violent crimes reported in Virginia in 2007. That same year, theft of money and property accounted for a loss of nearly $50 million. While Virginia's overall crime rate ranks low among the 50 states, these totals can appear staggering and reinforce the reality that the nation's courts often don't have the time, resources or inclination to treat each criminal case the individual attention it deserves. If you're charged with a crime in Virginia, you are in trouble and you need help.

Being suddenly thrown into in the criminal court system can leave the accused feeling stripped of his/her dignity, especially in the cases of a first-time offender. If you or a family member has been charged with a crime in Virginia, you need a dedicated and professional criminal defense attorney with a proven history of fighting for the rights of the accused.

Don't let a single mistake or a moment of bad judgment effect the rest of your life. If the outcome of your case is important, call The Wilson Law Firm and put their experienced criminal defense lawyers to work for you immediately.

You have rights under the law and by hiring an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney you can put yourself in the best position for success. Don't make the mistake of trying to represent yourself in a criminal proceeding.  Hire a lawyer who taught the police.  As a Criminal Justice Academy Legal Instructor, Mr. Wilson did just that for more than a decade, and he can help you deal with this difficult situation.  If you trust us with your case, we will zealously protect your rights and diligently work to obtain the best possible outcome for you.

Client Testimonials

"Communication was honest and expectations were realistic.  The follow thru with my wife and employer was outstanding.  Ann did a thorough and excellent job with my case."

"Outcome was more than I had hoped for - thank you for providing such fabulous service! . . . It was a pleasure working with everyone.  In particular, Melissa did a fantastic job managing the process and keeping me informed."

Dear Friends,

Your little survey form does not have enough lines for me to tell you how pleased I am with our recent endeavor.

During a time when stress would normally have been pretty high, I never let it get to me because of the very courteous and friendly correspondence I received during the entire process.  Never once did any of you make me feel anything but comfortable with my decision to have you represent me.  It is very rare anymore to find an entity, where all members are just plain nice.  All the little extras that you provided did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

The outcome was obviously beyond my highest hopes and I do not believe that that could have been possible without the in depth interviews from the start all the way to the finish.  The amount of concern that was shown on this level shows what a professional organization that your firm is.  I was very impressed when I was asked, for instance, what part of the outcome was most important to me.

I would highly recommend, without reservation, your firm to anyone who has a need for any service that you offer.  My comment to them would be, "You will have a friend, you can count on, in your corner".

I hope that I will not require your services again on any matter similar to this one but if I ever need legal counsel your firm will be my first call.

Thank you all very much for everything.

Sincerely,
Paul

"Everyone I personally dealt with was very helpful and understanding.  Positive experience."
"Ann Thayer had immaculate case delivery when presenting my info/file to the judge.  I was very impressed with her demeanor and over-all attitude.  I am confident that I received the best representation possible.  It was a relief, given the situation I'd gotten myself into.  A big help."
The plea agreement worked out by Ann Thayer was incredible considering my situation and circumstances.  I am truly grateful and appreciative of the job that was done for me.
"The attentiveness of Melissa Hernandez exceeded my expectations.  I am more than sure you all had other cases, but in dealing with her I felt like your sole client."

"I could not have been more pleased with the outcome of my case.  I would absolutley refer your firm."

"I wanted to take a minute to thank you again for all of your help with my case.  The final outcome was beyond our greatest hopes.  It was, of course, an extremely stressful process but in the end it all worked out.  You said all along that Kevin would get us the best possible outcome - and he sure did!  A special thanks to you [Melissa Hernandez] for the countless emails and the time you spent walking me through this whole thing, you did quite a bit of 'hand-holding' and it is greatly appreciated."
"First off, I would like to thank both you [Melissa Hernandez] and Mr. Wilson for all of your help.  You were able to alleviate many of my concerns and ease a difficult experience.  I am satisfied with the outcome; I received one of the best scenarios I could have hoped for.  Thanks again for all your hard work and service."
"I strongly agree that your services and Ms. Thayer lived up to our expectations.  Communications were timely"
"We were very happy with the result and were surprised that Kevin was able to bring the DUI charges down to a reckless driving.  Especially in light of the BAC.  Melissa Hernandez was on top of everything and very responsive and helpful.'
