With an aggressive yet artful style in dealing with cases, Mr. Franz achieves optimal results for his clients.  Since his admission to the bar in 1994, he has won countless legal victories in both the trial and appellate courts. Mr. Franz has successfully defended thousands of clients of a range of charges, including, but not limited to, Murder, Racketeering, Fraud, Rape, Sex Abuse, Drug Importation, Possession and Sales, Driving While Intoxicated and Assault.

Mr. Franz began his legal career working for preeminent defense attorney, Jay Goldberg.  Then, Mr. Franz worked with the Criminal Appeals Bureau of the Legal Aid Society where he conducted research and writing and argued appeals before the New York Appellate Division for the First and Second Departments.  After successfully arguing numerous appeals, he pursued trial work in the Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn, New York, handling countless criminal cases from inception to trial.

Having earned a reputation as a young, aggressive attorney, who was well-versed in the law, Mr. Franz was recruited to join the Queens Law Associates, a newly formed private defense organization.  In the years that followed, he worked for the Law Offices of Joseph Tacopina where he gained invaluable experience and continued to flourish as a criminal defense attorney. He opened his own practice in 2001.

Practicing law for over a decade, Mr. Franz has handled a broad variety of legal matters.  Although he predominantly deals with complex state and federal criminal cases, involving white collar, violent, and non-violent crimes, Mr. Franz is the rare trial attorney who practices in the areas of both criminal and civil litigation. On the civil side, he has handled civil lawsuits, immigration, and administrative matters. His firm focuses on pre-trial litigation and trials, as well as post-conviction proceedings in the state and federal courts.

Mr. Franz remains on the cutting edge of current legal issues. He serves on a legislative committee and is frequently invited to speak at Fordham Law School on the subjects of criminal law and alternative dispute resolution.  He has also appeared as a guest judge in moot court competitions at New York Law School and is a frequent guest legal analyst on television.
